الملخص

Power transformers in transmission and distribution networks are subjected to temporary overvoltages induced by direct lightning strikes or switching operations. These overvoltages pose a serious threat to the transformer's internal insulation system, potentially leading to insulation failure and significant economic losses. To protect these critical assets, Metal Oxide Surge Arresters (MOSA) are widely used owing to their highly non-linear characteristics and extremely fast response times. This paper focuses on the modeling and simulation of MOSA behavior under high-frequency transient waves.
