Abstract

This study aims to identify destructive phenomena, their repercussions, and their prevalence throughout the world, particularly in Arab societies, especially Libyan society, due to their impact on youth behaviour. These phenomena include drug use and addiction among young people, which has become widespread in recent times and has become a problem that threatens the fabric of society in its various segments, especially the youth, who are the backbone on which the progress and advancement of society to the highest levels rests, then  we addressed the causes leading to the spread of this scourge and its harmful effects, and raised the issue through a descriptive study in which we reached a number of conclusions, including recommendations that may contribute to alleviating this scourge through cooperation between social researchers, security and social control authorities, and anti-drug agencies.
