Abstract

The study aimed to identify the common behavioral problems among students in basic education. The researcher employed the descriptive-analytical method and used a questionnaire as the data collection tool. The sample was randomly selected from a group of teachers in schools in the city of Zintan, consisting of 100 participants. The results indicated that the participants’ estimates of the level of behavioral, academic, and social problems among students were neutral, with arithmetic means ranging between 3.25 and 3.57. In contrast, their estimates of the causes of these problems were in agreement, with a mean of 3.87. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.810) was found between general behavioral problems and low academic achievement. Additionally, positive correlations were observed between behavioral problems and factors such as weak parental supervision (r = 0.361), psychological and social pressures (r = 0.218), and peer influence and lack of motivation (r = 0.267), indicating that these factors contribute to the prevalence and exacerbation of behavioral problems among students.
