Abstract
This study aimed to identify the role of kindergartens in preparing pupils for the primary stage and in developing their learning skills. It also sought to examine whether children’s integration into kindergarten enhances their social interaction, in addition to identifying the reality of kindergarten teachers in terms of their academic qualifications The study was conducted in kindergartens located in the city of Shahat. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted the descriptive approach. The study instrument was a questionnaire consisting, in its final form, of (22) questions. A simple random sample of (38) participants was selected, including teachers and parents of pupils enrolled in kindergartensThe researcher relied on the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).
to analyze the data. The results showed that enrolling children in kindergarten contributes to the development of their learning skills and significantly enhances their social interaction. The findings also revealed that a number of non-specialized teachers are working in this field. The researcher recommended that this profession should be undertaken by specialized teachers who meet the requirements for working in kindergartens.
